Traditional Acadian Craftsmanship on Display at the Vermilionville Historical Village Lafayette, Louisiana

Fun Fact: Cabinetry, furniture-making and woodworking were considered essential skills for the Acadian man in Louisiana during the 1800s. 

Tidewater Cypress and Longleaf Pine were readily available and used throughout the home. 

Examples of Acadian craftsmanship, circa 1810, are on display at Vermilionville Historic Village near Lafayette, Louisiana.
